Santa Ana River Lakes catfish action remains HOT
The night fishing at Santa Ana River Lakes continues to produce some quality catfish. The heaviest stringer weighed in for the week was 32 pounds and 2 ounces. Aaron & Shelton Lone of Ontario caught this 12 catfish stringer using shrimp in a boat at the middle of the lake. Victor Estrada of Garden Grove caught the heaviest catfish of the week totaling 6 pounds. Victor filled his limit with 4 more catfish totaling 11 pounds 8 ounces using shrimp in a boat at the middle of the lake. Santos Maria Parades of Long Beach landed a huge 14 pound carp using a potato at the bubble hole. Corona Lake begins PRE-STOCKING of trout
Corona Lake has just planted a small pre-stocking of sierra bow trout down at the dam. This stocking is gearing up for the official huge trout opener that will soon be announced. Anglers that want to be one of the first get their local trout fix should head out to Corona Lake. Most anglers this week targeted the hot catfish action. Mike Gomez of Corona caught 10 catfish totaling 33 pounds using a mealworm/marshmallow combo soaked in Eagle Claw gravy from a boat at the dam. Randy Martinez of Fontana caught his 5 catfish limit weighing in at 15 pounds using shrimp from a boat. Richard Carter of L.A. also caught a catfish limit totaling 15 pounds using mackerel from a boat.
