The biggest trout in California continue to be caught at Santa Ana River Lakes.
Ryan Grisco of L.A. caught a massive 18 pound 7 ounce trout using hatchery pellet flavored Power-Bait fishing at the pump house. Jermey Harper of Fullerton landed a 17 pound 8 ounce trout using chartreuse dough bait also fishing at the Pump House.
George Tebelekian & Henry Marin of L.A. caught 8 trout totaling 49 pounds with thier largest weighing in at 16 pounds using both Trout King jigs and chartreuse Power-Bait fishing at La Palma point. Don Spencer of Pomona caught a 16 pound 8 ounce trout using a spin chad at Levitz corner. Glenn Matsushita of Gardena caught a 15 pound trout using a crank bait at the Bubble Hole. Santa Ana River Lakes is open seven-days-a-week and during trout season, 24 hour fishing will be on full moon weekends only. Slim Woodall of L.A. caught a 18 pound 8 ounce trout using Power-Bait fishing at the Dam. John Aslanyan of Studio City caught & released a 18 pound sturgeon using a mice tail from a float tube. Edison Yang of Banning caught 4 trout totaling 20 pounds 8 ounces, his largest was 13 pounds 8 ounces using night-crawlers at the Dam. Luke Koolhand of Riverside caught a 13 pound 8 ounce trout using Power-Bait at Sandy Beach.
