David Rochin of Fullerton caught 7 catfish totaling 21 pounds, his largest cat at 5 pounds using Whoopass catfish bait fishing in the Big Lake. 
Dylan Sears of Corona caught 6 catfish totaling 15 pounds using mackerel in Chris Pond. Mike Gomez of Santa Ana caught a 12 pound 8 ounce catfish using fresh shrimp soaked in Eagle Claw gravy. The fifth qualifying tournament for the 2014 Slay Fest Championship will be 5pm Sat. August 23rd at Santa Ana River Lakes. Santa Ana River Lakes is open seven days & nights a week during catfish season. During the summer there is 24 hour fishing, no extra charge for overnight camping every Friday & Saturday night beginning at 5 pm. Ed John of Corona caught & released a 14 pound 1 ounce catfish using mackerel at the Dam from shore.
Patrick Boone of Hesperia caught 5 catfish totaling 29 pounds 10 ounces using beef livers also at the Dam. Louis Lopez of Azusa caught 7 catfish totaling 25 pounds 11 ounces using shrimp from a boat.
