Tagged Trout & Big Cats at Santa Ana River Lakes
Santiago Palacios of West Covina caught 5 catfish totaling 32 pounds, his largest weighed in at 17 pounds 8 ounces using mackerel from shore near the Bubble Hole.
Steven Nguyen of La Habra caught a 10 pound trout using Power-Bait fishing at La Pama point. Corey Allen of Garden Grove caught 5 trout totaling 20 pounds, his largest 5 pounds 4 ounces.
Korrey also managed to get 2 tagged trout for the Christmas Tagged Trout Special which ends Dec. 24th. His prizes included a Eagle Claw rod/reel & a motor boat rental pass. Corey was using Mijo Minnows in Chris’ Pond. Al Rotta of Lomita caught 2 trout totaling 16 pounds, his largest at 9 pounds using a Powerworm & mice tail in the Big Lake. During trout season Santa Ana River Lakes will be closed every Thursday for Day & Night fishing for trout stockings.
