OFFICIAL BIG CATFISH OPENER MAY 15TH AT SANTA ANA RIVER LAKES
SARL is currently stocking catfish every Thursday gearing up for our BIG catfish opener on Friday May 15th. Santiago Palacios of W. Covina caught 17 catfish totaling 42 pounds 11 ounces using both mackerel and a mealworm/marshmallow combo fishing in Chris’ Pond.
Luis Guzman of Bellflower caught 6 catfish totaling 15 pounds using mackerel by the Boat Dock. Ruben Carranta of Santa Ana caught 5 catfish totaling 13 pounds also fishing at the Boat Dock using a mealworm & marshmallow combination.
24 hour camping/overnight fishing is scheduled for every Friday & Saturday night, 5pm to 4pm the next day during the summer. Santa Ana River Lakes is currently closed every Thursday until after our BIG catfish opener May 15-16-17 for more information log on at www.fishinglakes.com
