78+ POUND CATFISH “BLUEZILLA” CAUGHT & RELEASED AGAIN AT SANTA ANA RIVER LAKES

The 78+ pounds of mass destruction has made a third appearance so far this season at Santa Ana River Lakes.  Steven Rochin of Placentia caught and safely released “Bluezilla” a 78+ pound monster catfish using Whoop Ass cut mackerel fishing from a float tube on the backside of the catfish lake casting toward the trees.Rochin  The entire 30 minute epic battle was all caught on a Go Pro video camera.  This must see video is posted at fishinglakes.com under the Big News section.  Florencio Casillas of Garden Grove caught and safely released a 28 pound catfish also fishing in the catfish lake using mackerel.Florencio Casillas of Garden Grove caught and safely released a 28 pound catfish  Richard Padilla of Upland fished the overnight fishing/camping session and limited out with 10 catfish totaling 22 pounds using shrimp from his kayak, fishing all around the Big Lake.

Santa Ana River Lakes is currently stocking catfish every Friday, Tilapia every other Friday and is open 7 days a week for both day & night fishing.  24 hour camping/overnight fishing is scheduled for every Friday & Saturday night, 5pm to 4pm the next day during the summer.
