CATFISH & TILAPIA ARE ON THE CHEW AT SARL
The water is warming up and we are starting to see some nice tilapia in addition to the hot catfish bite at Santa Ana River Lakes. Santiago Placious of W. Covina fished back to back overnight sessions and caught 10 tilapia and 10 catfish totaling 40 pounds using night-crawlers in Chris’ Pond. Nash Helm of La Mirada checked in his family’s double overnight 24 hour fishing sessions. Nash limited out (15 fish limit per family session) with 30 catfish totaling 55 pounds using mackerel, camping from shore near the boat dock. Ty Sanders of Elsinore landed a 8 pound catfish using a night-crawler near Sandy Beach. Robert & Robert Jr. Saldana of W. Covina caught 7 catfish totaling 14 pounds 8 ounce using night-crawlers at La Palma point.

Santa Ana River Lakes is currently stocking catfish every Friday, Tilapia every other Friday and is open 7 days a week for both day & night fishing. 24 hour camping/overnight fishing is scheduled for every Friday & Saturday night, 5pm to 4pm the next day during the summer.
