50 POUND CATFISH CAUGHT AT SANTA ANA RIVER LAKES
Arik Morillo of Los Angeles caught a 50 pound catfish using a hot dog fishing from shore in the Catfish Lake. Santiago Palacious caught his 15 fish overnight limit, a mixture of catfish and tilapia totaling 50 pounds using both mackerel and night-crawlers fishing in Chris Pond. Jay Lamori of W. Covina fished/camped overnight caught 15 catfish totaling 40 pounds using mackereal fishing in the back of the Big Lake.

Santa Ana River Lakes is currently stocking catfish every Friday, Tilapia every other Friday and is open 7 days a week for both day & night fishing. 24 hour camping/overnight fishing is scheduled for every Friday & Saturday night, 5pm to 4pm the next day during the summer.
