BIG cats BIG limits being caught at Corona Lake
The catfish are on the chew at Corona Lake. 
Heavy weekly stockings, makes Corona Lake the favorite local hotspot. Heaviest stringer of the week was caught by overnight fisherman Donovan Swan of Lake Elsinore. Donovan caught 10 catfish totaling 36 pounds using mackerel from a boat in the middle of the lake. Biggest catfish was caught by Sam Sombounkhane of La Habra, he landed a 11 1/2 pound catfish using shrimp near the boat launch ramp. Jose & Isaac Negrete of Lake Elsinore caught 18 catfish totaling 30 1/2 pounds using both night-crawlers & mackerel from a boat. Ray Costales of Menifee caught 8 catfish totaling 21 pounds, his largest catfish weighed in at 6 pounds using shrimp in the middle of the lake. Santa Ana River Lakes RE-OPENS with a BANG
Due to the lower water levels because of a road construction project, Santa Ana River Lakes was temporally closed for almost a month. S.A.R.L. anglers were eager to get back to their favorite local lake for some great fishing. Santa Ana River Lakes did not disappoint, most fisherman had their limits in just a few hours on the day of the re-opening. With the heavy stockings and it being un-fished for nearly a month the fish are hungry. Jessy Guerra, CJ Barajas & Anthony Gonzales of Riverside caught 12 catfish totaling 27 1/2 pounds using shrimp/night-crawlers with marshmallows in a boat. Alison Sharp of Brea caught 12 catfish totaling 25 pounds using shrimp from a float tube in the Big Lake. Eric Debruin &Steve Missbrener of Huntington Beach caught 10 catfish totaling 21 pounds using Bonita from a boat in the Big Lake. David Rochin of Fullerton caught 7 catfish totaling 18 1/4 pounds using shrimp from a float tube in the Big Lake. Jon Nakamura of Walnut caught a 7 pound catfish using shrimp at Levitz corner.
