The combination of weekly trout stockings, recent cold weather and water being pumped into the big lake is providing some excellent trout fishing at Santa Ana River Lakes. In addition to the hot trout bite , big catfish are hungry and on the chew. The Suuuper Troout Grand Opener is scheduled for Nov. 22nd, 23rd & 24th. Barbie Wilson of Ontario caught a 6 pound trout using a night-crawler on a boat at S.E. corner. Jesse Pimentel of La Puente caught 6 trout & 2 cats totaling 18 pounds 8 ounces using night-crawlers at the Pump House. Cameron Green of Orange caught his first fish ever, a 5 pound trout using chartreuse dough bait at the Pump House. Doug Cherry of Placentia caught a 11 pound catfish using mackerel at “The Road”. Victor Perez & Josh Imset of O.C. caught 5 trout totaling 12 pounds 4 ounces using chartreuse dough bait from a boat in the big lake. 2 DOUBLE DIGIT trout caught at Corona Lake
The heavy Mt. Lassen stockings are paying off big time, reports coming in from all over that the trout bite is red hot. The Turner’s, Lip Ripperz Hatchery Dust Tournament at Corona Lake is scheduled for Nov. 30th. Marcus Zanolini of Anaheim caught a 10 pound rainbow trout using Lip Ripperz lure at the dam. 
Sergio Solis of Compton grabbed 1st place in the adult division at the Fight Trout Fight Cancer event by catching a 10 pound trout using Power-Bait from a boat. 
Alex Braton of Seal Beach caught and released a 18 pound sturgeon using a mini-jig from his float tube in the middle of the lake. Chad Lee & Ed Reyes of Riverside caught 10 trout totaling 17 pounds using green Power-Bait from a boat. Celeste Bender caught her trout limit totaling 12 pounds, her largest weighing in at 4 pounds 2 ounces using night-crawlers near the rocks.
