23 POUND CATFISH CAUGHT AT SANTA ANA RIVER LAKES
Richard Smith of Covina caught & released a 23 pound catfish fishing from a float tube in the Catfish Lake using chicken livers.
Carlos Sanchez of Orange caught a 8 pound trout using Mijo’s Minnow fishing in Chris’ Pond. Carlos took 1st place in Sat. biggest trout tournament winning $1056 in cash !!
The Toy & Food Drive at Santa Ana River Lakes tournament was a huge success! Anglers donated lots of canned food, toys & even cash to benefit The Eli Home in Anaheim. Jose Aguilar of Costa Mesa caught 4 trout, a mixture of both rainbows & lightnings totaling 17 pounds 8 ounces using Power-Bait fishing in “Johnny’s corner” in Chris’ Pond. Jose’s heaviest fish was a rainbow trout that weighed in at 7 pounds 8 ounces.
