CATFISH ON THE CHEW AT SARL
Nathan LaFantasie of Walnut caught 4 catfish totaling 23 pounds 8 ounces, his largest cat weighed in at 14 pounds 4 ounces using mackerel in the big lake. Jose & Lily Chavarin caught 12 catfish totaling 27 pounds using a mealworm/marshmallow combo from the boat dock. The Fallejo family of Covina caught 7 catfish totaling 15 pounds, their largest cat at 7 pounds using shrimp at the Pump House.
Ray Sell of Cerritos caught a 7 pound 8 ounce catfish using a mealworm & marshmallow combo fishing in the Big Lake. Santa Ana River Lakes is open seven-days-a-week during catfish season. During the summer there is 24 hour fishing, no extra charge for overnight camping every Friday & Saturday night beginning at 5 pm. HEAVY CATFISH STRINGERS AT CORONA LAKE
Dave Berry of Wildomar caught 13 catfish totaling 29 pounds, his largest was 4 pounds 8 ounces using Whoopass Catfish Bait fishing from a boat.
Steven Rozco of Norco caught 5 catfish totaling 14 pounds 8 ounces using mealworms from a boat. Lew & Cox Freadgreen of Victorville caught 7 catfish totaling 14 pounds 12 ounces using a dip bait from a boat near the dam. The second qualifying tournament for the 2014 Slay Fest Championship will be 5pm Sat. July 12th at. Corona Lake.Corona Lake is open seven-days-a-week during catfish season.
